Glueck’s diaries document his travels throughout the Near East, as he searched the Negev Desert and remote areas of Israel and Jordan for ancient settlement sites. He wrote about his archaeological work, as well as his personal observations about the political and cultural events of the period before, during, and after WWII and the formation of the state of Israel.

Glueck kept several diaries concurrently. For easy browsing, entries from these diaries have been combined and organized chronologically. Use the pop-out menu to the right to explore the diaries.
